I met Barbara in Belmar to discuss her design project in Avon by the Sea. Avon by the Sea is a quaint, family-friendly town in the heart of Monmouth county. It is nestled just north of Belmar with a pristine beachfront.

“I wanted to create a warm, casual coastal home for my family and friends to enjoy on weekends at the Jersey Shore.”

When I heard the story about the inception and inspiration for the project began, I knew I wanted to be the interior photographer to tell the visual narrative.

Barbara is the owner of Bee Hive Interiors and used this home to showcase her talent in customized interiors and design construction.

“My husband and I grew up at the beach during our summers as kids. We wanted a place for our kids and grandchildren to have the same experience of those amazing summers. We wanted to be on the water if possible and have room to add a pool. That is how we met.”

The Property was situated on a flag lot, which presented many challenges. But to someone with vision and fortitude to endure such an undertaking. The match was made when Dave from North End Builders and Chris from Rice and Brown Architects joined forces to realize their vision.

“When I was looking at exteriors for our new home as I drove around the houses, I fell in love with we’re all designed by Rice & Brown. So I reached out to them. They are both extremely talented and easy to work with. We had built a house a few years back with Dave Kinsel from North End builders and had a wonderful experience, so we knew we wanted to use him again.”
