You found your ideal location, maybe it’s your home or a rented space, but now you need to prepare for the shoot!
Don’t panic. Spring is the perfect time to declutter those spaces and sell an item you don’t use on Facebook Marketplace. You can book your branding session with the profits you make from everything you sold!
I love the three-bin idea:
- Keep
- Donate
- Sell
The three-bin method is the best method I have found for being productive; you have to empty the space before anything goes back in. Get your bins or contractor garbage bags and ask yourself these questions:
- Do I LOVE it?
- Do I use it?
- Is it holding me back?
Now go through your items and if you answer “yes” to question 1, then keep it.
If you answer “no” to question 2, then donate or list it on FB Marketplace. And if you answered “yes” to question 3, ask yourself how badly you want what is waiting in your future if you let it go!! Letting go is the first step to freedom from clutter and excess.
Throughout the pandemic and lockdowns, I have learned that I don’t need as much as I thought I did. Remember when you couldn’t get paper towels, hand sanitizer, and masks? Well, I started using cotton cleaning cloths that I washed and reused. Believe it or not, they did a better job on my countertops. An anyone else makes pop on Pinterest to make their hand sanitizer like me? And who knew I would dig out that brand new sewing machine and make my masks!!
You are creative, and you don’t need all the stuff holding you back from a clutter-free work and living space.
Once you have all your items categorized, now it’s time to list them on FB Marketplace or fill your SUV and head to Good Will, ReStore, or the local donation center. Some companies will pick up your treasured for free and give you a statement for your taxes.
I promise, once you rip off the band-aid, you will feel liberated in your new space. The blessings will pour in and spark creativity and inspiration. Congratulate yourself; you are a bad-ass who is ready to take her business to the next level!
